Fitness Challenge
Action Plan Participants:
Diabetes Association and CD-Recreation

The Diabetes Association, Inc. (DAI), Community Development Recreation (CD-REC), the Boys & Girls Club and Healthy City Fall River highlights those services offered by participating agencies and encourages people to live healthier lives. The challenge will direct participants to the many low-to-no-cost resources available for keeping healthy including low-cost fitness resources at CD-REC and the Boys and Girls Club, as well as ten walking paths designated by Healthy City Fall River.

Goal:

To engage people in fitness activities and weight loss over a sustained period of time

Method(s):

Participants will be given a Fitness Challenge membership card that will allow them to gain access to programs and facilities

Timeline:          

January 9 through May 5, 2008

Number of participants

Progress: Over 1,000 people participated over the four months and lost a collective total of 3,400 pounds!
