Parenting Wisley
 Action Plan Participant:  Stanley Street Treatment and Resources, Inc.

Parenting Wisely is a parenting program delivered on an interactive CD-ROM. The program, using video vignettes of common family problems, teaches thirteen universal parenting skills. A ten-week group discussing the material taught in the program follows the CD.

1,B)     A drug-free community, including enforcement of  tobacco regulations

Goal:

To reduce substance abuse in the youth living in the Greater Fall River Area by strengthening protective factors in each participating family. Family management and communication skills are developed or improved by this program.

Method(s):

Parents will view the program on their time frame, where they would like to view it and with whomever they would like to see it.

Timeline:          

Parenting Wisely takes approximately three hours to complete. The program is ongoing.
Indicators:       

1) Parents develop more confidence in their ability to handle their children’s needs and difficulties.
2) Parents understand their problems are not unique.
3) Parents are able to advocate for their children at school.
