City Park Renovations |
||
The City has received a total of $410,000 in Urban Self-Help grants over the past two years from the Massachusetts Office of Environmental Affairs to renovate portions of Kennedy, Lafayette, Maplewood and North parks in the city. Work will include planting of more trees and improvement and care for existing trees, installation of irrigation, installation of new flowerbeds and lawns, and installation of new park lights and benches. Some of the walkways in the Grove area of Kennedy Park will also be moved to where they were placed shortly after Frederick Law Olmsted designed the park more than a century ago. |
