The Diabetes Association, Inc. adapted a national research Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) study conducted by the National Institute of Health and applied it to a project at the Lightolier Corporation in Fall River's Industrial Park. This successful program has now been adapted for use within the Portuguese-speaking community in Fall River and will be taught to local community leaders who can implement it within their own programs. |
