There's a lot you can do

We all want health care costs to be lower, but did you know that there’s a lot that you and I can do every day to reduce our risks of developing chronic illnesses like heart disease and diabetes? Healthy City Fall River is a project that is working to get everyone involved in making our lives healthier, not only to lower the cost of medical care but so each of us lives stronger and better every day.

See what you can do!

Most chronic illnesses like diabetes, heart disease and lung cancer don’t just happen by themselves. For most people, these diseases develop when they eat too much, smoke too much or fail to get enough exercise every day. But these illnesses don’t have to happen. See what you can do to be sure that your life is a long and healthy one.

Healthy City is about working together!

Nearly everyone wants a community with clean streets and no crime. The trouble is, we all want someone else to solve these problems. Healthy City Fall River is about everyone working to make Fall River a cleaner, safer and healthier place to live and work. Click here to find out more about what hundreds of people are already doing to make Fall River healthier.

Healthy City Fall River is an initiative of the Mayor's Office in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health's (DPH) Community Health Network Area organization, Partners for a Healthier Community, Inc., supported by DPH linkage funds and involving all of the people who live or work in the City of Fall River.
