SMILES Mentoring Program |

The Southcoast Mentoring Initiative for Learning, Education and Service (SMILES) is a school-based one-to-one mentoring program matching adult mentors with at-risk students. Begun at the Kuss Middle School, the program involves over 25 adult mentors and children from 6th and 7th grade in a weekly one-hour program held at the school. The New Bedford Chamber of Commerce, is seeking to recruit several hundred volunteer mentors in Fall River for similar programs over the next several years. |
