United Neighbors of Fall River, a Community Connections Coalition, was created in 1998 through the Department of Social Service's Child Abuse Prevention Initiative. The primary mission of the Community Connections is to facilitate the organization of a continuum of comprehensive neighborhood support systems in each community. Community connections promotes a framework for planning that is prevention-focused, family oriented, and builds upon the strengths and diversities within our neighborhoods. Community Connections serves as a catalyst for systems change within the community. The coalition supports the Fall River Foster Care Support Task Force, designed to improve life outcomes for youth and teens who have been and/or are currently in foster care placement.
