Mayor's Youth Council

The Fall River Youth Council, an advisory board to the Mayor of Fall River, was established in 1996. The Coordinator of Youth Services for the City works with the Youth Council to assist the Mayor in establishing a youth agenda for the City. The Youth Council is involved in many community and neighborhood activities and meets twice a month at Government Center to discuss issues and concerns that are important to the youth of Fall River. The Council also organizes an annual Mayor's Youth Forum.

Progress: The Mayor’s Youth Council is in the process of establishing a community service registry that will contain an inventory of volunteer opportunities for youth and listing of youth interested in volunteering. The Youth Council members are planning to outreach to other youth groups, making them aware of volunteer opportunities.

organize a community service project and recruit youth
