Fall River Sidewalk Improvement

New sidewalks, bicycle lanes and cross-walk improvements are examples of physical environmental improvements that can foster physical activity in the City. There are currently ten designated walking routes encouraging people to take advantage of them in order to increase their activity levels. Improvements have also been made to Meridian Street to create pedestrian and bicycle access on over a mile of city streets.

Strategic Goal:    Modify built environment planning and construction standards to ensure active living environments in 100% of new built environments city-wide by 2012 by establishing Health Impact Assessment guidelines for the City.
