KENNEDY PARK

One of the most popular walking spots in Fall River is Kennedy Park in the City's South End. Located directly in front of the St. Anne Shrine and extending nearly to the Taunton River, the park offers a wide sidewalk and moderate slopes. Because of its popularity, there are nearly always walkers in the park, thus increasing safety. Lighting is adequate for most of the path for evening walks.

A full walk around the park is nearly a mile and a half (225 calories for a 200 pound person). A flatter and more moderate course around the upper park is only 3/4 of a mile (113 calories for a 200 pound person).

Starting in the summer of 2010, a Fall River Walks bulletin board will be located in the Park Department Office, opposite the north end of S. Beach Street. Walkers can record their walks, meet other walkers and get information about other walking locations throughout the city.
