The City of Fall River, working in cooperation with Partners for a Healthier Community, has embarked on a Healthy City Initiative to improve the overall health and well-being of our city.

Fall River Healthy City Visioning Forum held on February 27, 2003, at the Advanced Technology and Manufacturing Center
Martine Street, Fall River

Dear Friends:

The Fall River Healthy City initiative kicked off to a strong start with our well-attended Community Visioning Forum on February 27. I want to thank the more than 100 community members who took time from their busy schedules to begin setting a vision for a Healthy Fall River.

The Visioning Forum began a process of reaching out to the community to develop a vision for the future of Fall River, which will result in a plan of action to move our city toward goals we will set together. To ensure that everyone has a voice in the process, we will hold a series of events to gather input from all segments of the Fall River community over the next several months.

I invite you to become part of the Healthy City Design Team, which will plan and implement further outreach activities in order to generate a comprehensive vision for the city, complete with goals, objectives, and an action plan. The Design Team will convene on Thursday April 3, 2002 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Advanced Technology and Manufacturing Center. Please contact Maureen Estes in my office at (508) 324-2600 to RSVP for the meeting or for further information.

Thank you again for your participation in the Fall River Healthy City initiative. The success of our initiative depends upon the involvement of citizens like you in moving Fall River towards a vision for a brighter tomorrow.

Sincerely,

Edward M. Lambert, Jr.
Mayor
