Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society's nationwide, signature fund-raising activity. Teams of eight or more people raise money in advance and pledge to keep one member strolling, walking or running around the school track for the entire overnight event. Other members camp out in tents around the track and enjoy a festive atmosphere with fun activities and entertainment. Special ceremonies honor local cancer survivors and those we have lost to the disease.  This year's event took place at the B.M.C.Durfee High School track on the night of Friday, June 18th into Saturday, June 19th, and raised a total of $217,000!

Relay For Life brings communities together in the fight against cancer. More than 3,800 events are planned nationwide this year. This unique overnight event raises cancer awareness while serving as a celebration for local cancer survivors, a memorial for loved ones lost, and a rally for the community. Teams of local walkers, made up of friends, co-workers, families and groups, keep a continuous presence on the track throughout the night, walking in shifts while enjoying music, entertainment and camaraderie, a great Healthy City event!
