Over 100 members of Bristol Community College's (BCC) Advisory Boards gathered on April 3, 2013 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. to meet in break out Advisory Board meetings with their respective chairs. One of those Boards advises the Civic Engagement Program, which enhances student learning through the integration of academic learning in Partners for a Healthier Communitycourses or through participation in community service. Over 10,000 hours of community service are rendered by faculty and students each year. Program Director Dr. Mary Zahm took suggestions from Board members Youth Services Coordinator Christian McCloskey and Healthy City Fall River Coordinator David Weed met with BCC staff Jennifer Boulay, Kathleen Burns, Rebecca Clark, Kathy Garganta, Robyn Worthington, and James Pelletier. In addition to new developments, grant funding, and awards, enhanced ways of engaging students in work with a variety of community organizations was one of the discussion points.
