The twenty-sixth scheduled Greater Fall River Fitness Challenge event took place on May 4, 2013 on Highland Avenue on a beautiful, cool Spring morning. Fitness Fusion personal trainer Amy Delgiacco led about twenty Challenge participants in an hour-long workout that combined running and walkind with a series of exercise stations along the route. "Since most of the participants are now in good shape following four months of fitness work, they were able to enjoy the course," noted Delgiacco. Following the work-out, particpants had a chance to win a raffle prize offered by Greater Fall River Re-creation Executive Director Grace Gerling. Sponsored by Partners for a Healthier Community and Southcoast Hospitals, the event was organized with the participation of All Generations Fitness, the Diabetes Association, Inc., Fitness Fusion, General Fitness. Greater Fall River Re-creation, Healthy City Fall River, and the Fall River YMCA. The Challenge offers low cost opportunities for those who live, work or attend school in the Greater Fall River Area to get fit, lose weight, have fun and win prizes.
