Partners for a Healthier Community's Healthy Youth Task Force holds a prevention poster contest each year to involve young people in thinking about the importance of prevention in their lives. This year's event was held on June 8th, 2007, at the Heritage Park Visitors' Center at Battleship Cove. The theme was "America's Promise". Posters were submitted by students from the Fall River Alternative School, St. Vincent's Home, Somerset Public Schools Chase Elementary School, Fall River YouthBuild and the Girl Scout Troops of SE Massachusetts on one of the five promises. Posters were also submitted by students from the Community Development Recreation Arts and Crafts Program and the Family Service Association After School Day Care on all five of the promises. Healthy Youth Task Force Co-chairman Jamison Souza welcomes everyone to the award ceremony. Over seventy youth, family members and friends were on hand for the annual event.
